Hallo,
For some time I have been using bbo with wine on linux. It runs flawless except html messages (i cannot make it work with mozctrx.dll) and there is some corruption in the menu for the table filter (the button "View" in the Main Bridge Club) where the last three items are not properly displayed.
But actually it is not what I wanted to report. I have a bigger problem with high CPU usage causing my machine to run warm. When I play at a table then the CPU resources are consumed up to 50% - 60%. Amazingly when there is a message on the display like "Declarer wins trick 1" or the like (I mean the yellow box down left on the table) then the usage jumps up to 100%. I switched the animation of that box off - but it does not change anything.
Besides that the bbo client is quite responsive, although more sluggish than with Windows 2000 on the same machine (800 MHz Pentium III). Also with Windows the processor usage is much smaller. I am using wine 0.9.38, X11R7.2 with hardware accelerated X server and last (but not least) bbo 5.0.3.
Is there anything I can do to make wine or bbo less processor hungry ?
Jacek
