Did anyone else see last night's South Park?
Absolutely brilliant... (At least it was if you grew up at the right time)

It brought back great memories. I must have seen the Heavy Metal movie a dozen times when I was in college.

I guess I did not grow up at the right time since I have never heard of Heavy Metal. Maybe they will do a Rocky Horror Picture Show episode for people of my generation...
I still enjoyed the episode, but liked the Britney Spears episode from a few weeks ago more.

Given that you're a year older than me, I suspect that the generation issue isn't isn't as salient as I thought... Normally, I'd suggest that this had something to do with the whole growing up in Canada thing, however, this was a Canadian movie... I would have expected that all you young canucks would be forced to watch it at school along with Degrassi reruns.
(Seriously, I lived in Montreal for a year in 1976... The Canadian content laws were highly amusing, even to a 10 year old. I had to music appreciation in school. As far as I could tell, the teacher wasn't allowed to discuss anything other than Anne Murray and Gordon Lightfoot. Do you know how many monthes we spent on the Wreak of the Edmund Fitzgerald? It was scarring... Seriously scarring...)
I suspect that the real reason that I discovered this is that I grew up on a college campus and (for whatever reason) the students at Vassar loved this flick... As did I.
Heavy Metal is still well worth watching, especially if you're under the influence

I checked IMdb, the movie came out in 1981.
The Britney episode was certainly a better social commentary. Major Boobage was just far out fun.
The "Imaginationland" 3-parter last season was a good combination of both.
