free to disagree with the fact that these are your methods? :P

I don't think this hand is strong enough for LM, so I don't think i'd find that call... i don't like passing this, but i think i will.

3♥, I just don't think you can afford to pass. If partner were a passed hand it would be a really tough decision. Maybe it would be right to pass but I just don't know if I could make myself.

3♥ as well. Given the spade shortness, I have to bid. Since I'm about a K light for a leaping michaels, 3H is normal.

Might have to drive to the 4 level anyway if LHO dbls on the spot :)

You could just agree that this hand is good enough for Leaping Michaels. If that's really ruled out, you have to bid 3♥; I can't think of anything else remotely sensible.
... that would still not be conclusive proof, before someone wants to explain that to me as well as if I was a 5 year-old. - gwnn

Agree with 3H. Passing with 5-5 headed by AJT's, don't think I can bare myself to do it.

My partner, a VERY aggressive bidder, opted for 4♣. I held Ax KQxxx xxxx Qx, and RHO bid 4♠... The opponents were not too sharp, so I opted for 6♥ on the guaranteed ♠ lead. The K♣ was on, so all was well. Anyway, I thought this was too weak for LM and kind of an ugly 3♥ overcall... Thanks for the responses.

I played him for x AJTxx Ax AKTxx or xx AJTxx x AKJxx or something decent :)

I agree that 4♣ is beyond "Very Aggressive"... Probably borderline insane, but he won't learn until he has to play it on the 6 level going for a number <_<
