(1S)-------X-------(2H)--------???

2H is constructive raise in S

What does X show

1 - a free 2H bid
2- responsive X
3 - other ?
From Psych "I mean, Gus and I never see eye-to-eye on work stuff.
For instance, he doesn't like being used as a human shield when we're being shot at.
I happen to think it's a very noble way to meet one's maker, especially for a guy like him.
Bottom line is we never let that difference of opinion interfere with anything."

Bromad, cappeletti, whatever you call it: I would use double to say I wanted to bid exactly 2H --less than 9HCP, but more than zero --an unforced response. 2s could be the hand with a responsive double (2-3-4-4) and desire to compete. Weaker distributional could bid 2NT.

A free 2H bid - and thank you opps for playing this convention that allows me to show my suit so easily.

You can use 2 as a responsive double.

So all all the sequences where LHO can bid 2 on a weak hand, he is just a lucky fool?

You can use 2 as a responsive double.

Agree with this approach, however, realize that their convention allows them to crack you in 2 with their 14 opposite 8 and you are in a 4-3.

I think the best would be

X = hearts
2 = responsive double with opener bidding 2NT to scramble
2NT = lebensohl

What am I missing? the opponent bid 2H as a constructive raise of spades. How can we be doubled in 2H when we are the ones who doubled 2h?

What about the related auction

(1S) X (2D) ...

where 2D is a transfer to hearts?

What are 2H, 2S, direct X, and P now and X when 2H comes back around?

X, 2, and 2NT as before or very similar. I think 2 has to be natural since RHO is often just showing a spade raise with something in hearts, not to mention he could simply be psyching as well.
