2♣? why would you lie about your club lenght when you can enter the auction with a bid that fits perfectly?, its nonsense.

I think 2♣ makes a lot of sense opposite passed partner, especially if we open aggressively. Game is a long shot and it's more likely we will be able to compete after 2♣ as well as we show good lead. That being said I usually double on those hands without second thought.
I would never bid 2♣ opposite unpassed partner.
I think passing is terrible. The only justification for it is not seeing K♥.

Well, I'm perfectly ok with either dbl, pass or 2♣. I think it's more a matter of style than anything else.
I prefer double.

If bidding 2♣ with this hand is "style", then it's definitely a losing style against any partnership who has the faintest idea about the game. Overcalling with trashy 5-card suits, at the 2-level, opposite a passed partner, with a balanced hand with scattered honours, is not winning bridge.

Perhaps you'd like to think so. But in practice such "revolting" overcalls work far better than you give them credit for.
Note also that 2♣ isn't my style either - I prefer double. I just I can live with 2♣because playing a 4-3 red fit (likely if I double) isn't my style either.
come to think of it... I just proved pass is the right bid in my style, ahah!

If you double you will play in a 4-3 fit 99% of the time. Mind you, these are Portugese Percentages.
and the result can be plotted on a graph.

Partner usually has some spades. He also has at least a few points so we should fight the partscore battle. Admittedly, it looks ugly, but the easiest way to get to what may well be our best denomination is simply to bid 1NT. Should opps cash in 5 spades and 2 aces, then 2 spades probably makes. And we will still reach our heart contract when partner has 5+. Even if we should get to 3 notrumps without a sound stopper, spades may block.
If I have made this specific agreement, then I will keep the agreement.
A partner can convince me to play nearly anything, but if partner breaks agreements, then you will fairly fast reach the point, that I wont be interested in playing any longer. Stick to your agreements.

Ugh, I thought it had been 1S - P - P - ?
I would pass with this hand without doubt

Obvious pass. If you forced me to choose between 2C and double, I would double, however both are poor with the latter being worse than the former.
