how many more posts are you going to write here hanp before revealing what actually happened?
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

The player who had this hand bid 4S which was doubled by the preemptor. The defense bloopered and it only went for 500 instead of the possible 1100. A double would probably be passed out and 4H makes exactly. The hand was given to me later as a problem. I said I would double but I thought 4S and pass were both reasonable, good problem for the forums!
and the result can be plotted on a graph.

Seems like partner might have doubled or bid 4♠ on many hands where we belong in the auction.

Like for example:

KQxx xx xxx xxxx ?

I would open the bidding with this hand. If you somehow can't do that (sucky system) then you need to act now imo. Pass is too risky. I double hoping it's clear I can't have 4-1-4-4 10 count so partner will except at least 4-0-5-4 or more likely 5-1-(5-2).

I think 4 is reasonable if we think partner won't be on the same wavelength as to the meaning of the dbl.
