My friend showed me this site years ago and she learned to play with a robot. Things do not look the same as I remember them. I was surprised to find that now you have to rent a robot. o.k. but...how much does that cost? I can't find out. Also, when I win my bid how do I keep score and count my honors??? Is there a preview of how everything works on BBO???

Robots cost
1 BB$ per week - the basic version or
1 BB$ per day the advanced version.
During this period of time you can play as much as you want, with as many robots as you want.
1 BB$ = $1 You can purchase BB$ by clicking the BB$ button at the top of the screen
You can take a look and see how things work by clicking the Help me find a game button > Take me to an interesting table
There is a Help button at the top of the screen if you get lost or confused. You can also write to support@bridgebase.com for things you dont find in the Help system.

The ad is often showing on BBO- $1/ week for the basic robot (GIB) and $1/ day for the advanced GIB (they say not better programming just thinks longer).

The difference is in how much server time they use to run simulations and "think".
Advanced robots use a lot of the server resources per thought/decision, equivalent to the robots you will encounter in any robot tourney.
Basic robots use less of the server resources per thought.
This difference in no. of simulations ran, makes it much more likely for the advanced robots to do something better than basic robot.
