You hold:

AJx
AT9xxx
x
Axx

Bidding goes:

1 3 3 Pa

You inquire as to the nature of 3 and they say it's weak and natural.

4 Pa Pa 5

???

Now what?

Also, he rates to not have a heart void when he leads the 3.

Knowing the VUL would help. This feels like a rulings question though :)
Yay for the "Ignored Users" feature!

VUL Forcing pass is on as "volunteered" game.
I'm interested in 6H, so pass.
.
non-vul must make my best guess. Offensive shape,
6-suit got raised, only D-ruff maybe surprise in defense, 5H.
.
Interesting what a hem-haw then 5H would suggest.
Certainly no D-interest as 5D on-the-way to 5H.
So S-stuff and missing H-honors.

Don't mastermind. We're red, they're white.

no matter the vulnerability forcing pass is ON since we voluntarily bid game.

So PASS

partner was under pressure after the 3c bid and could easily have "overbid" a
tad. The pass will allow p to X with the possible minimum and bid on if they have
more conventional values. Your P bid 3h probably while looking at a short club
so they probably do not have much in the way of HCP. Looking for a slam here
is at best belated and at worst will undermine future partnership bidding if
your p bids 5h and you drive to unmakeable 6.

This thread is strange to me. Why are we suddenly interested in slam? Why wouldn't we double with 3 aces, a singleton and Axx in our suit, and a bad 6-card suit?
If partner just has one trick for us on defense, it's already down 3, and we haven't made 5 yet.
The easiest way to count losers is to line up the people who talk about loser count, and count them. -Kieran Dyke
