Yep, that is what I would do. If I had to apply GBK and got to look at my hand, a good guess would be that pard has about 8-9 pts and ten red cards. Maybe some bot might hold a balanced 11-count. Pass seems like a better thing to do than bid 2H, regardless.

Stayman, to try to get to 4S. LHO has 14HCP and lots of diamonds, partner has balanced 15, RHO is yarb.

I think that guessing that partner passed initially with balanced 15 is not a possibility the OP is asking us to consider.
