If partner had spades against a strong club at favourable he would bid them. I doubt he has any good five card suit but could still have a good hand if balanced. I would lead a red suit and slightly prefer a heart.
It would be interesting to know why North might have chosen 2NT rather than 3NT and what South's alternatives were. But maybe they just have no agreements beyond 2♦.

I guess LHO bid 2NT to see if responder has a 5 card minor, he might be interested in slam.
I'd lead a ♥. I don't think leading ♠ will reach partner's suit since he didn't overcall it once. We might help opps develop their main suit!

Pard didn't dbl clubs nor bid spades and, given RHOs lack of a 4 card major, I doubt the diamond lead gets us anywhere.

First instinct was high spade.
Pard has enough that he's not overcalling 1C (immediate overcalls tend to be weak; with a good hand, you pass and come in later -- edit: at least with my p), and he's certainly not jumping in on a later round once he knows I have 0. I don't know what S's followups to 2N are, or what 2M over 2D would be by N, but it doesn't sound like N has a 5-bagger. This is one of those anything could be right situations; certainly I'm leading a major, though.

The only threatening lead is a ♦. After that declarer probably will go wrong after trying to drop ♠Q and then finesse in ♣.
Another question. Should east overcall something with his flat hand and passed hand partner (does vulnerability cause any difference in your choice?)
