Dealer was West.

Most people played in 3NT which has no chance once defenders judge that diamonds isn't worth continuing and switch to spades and North sensibly puts K,J,7.
How could you judge to play in 4 hearts?

You won't be able to get to every optimum contract, and not every contract that has better than a 50% chance of making makes. That being said, 4 on a Club lead is ghastly, and I feel it's a silly question to ask how to get to a poor contract that just happens to make. The 'optimum contract' is actually 4 on this hand, but you won't get to that because you have the HCP as well as a good suit, just Spades are lying badly.

It's also amusing to note that if your spades were 3-3 rather than 4-2 (with the T still in West and Q in East) then they only get 3 spade tricks and a diamond. Tough break. Sometimes 4-2 spades is better as a stopper, sometimes 3-3.

J lead still allows 4 tricks plus A...
