South opens 1West preempt 3

Your Bid as North?
I contend it should be 3 with bad numbers of diamonds/spades in South that might be all you can make and South can still give you useful information..
How should the bidding go?

If I have a 4 available as to play, then that's what I bid. The problem with 1-3-3 is that it's forcing anyway and you know where you want to play (and you can't play in 3S that way anyway unless you have agreed NFBs).

South over 4S might just punt 6S on the basis that a 4S bid is usually better than KQJTxxx and out. But I wouldn't be surprised if I missed slam opposite myself.

I think that most people play 3 as a forcing bid
