So score one for the commentors. As you were thinking after winning the K (eventually playing club Ace), one of the commentors said you where thinking why didn't I unblock the king...

I'm afraid that was Bas Drijver that they were talking about (on wkbridge2011.nl). Still yes pretty funny that they got it at least a little right.
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

Drijver had already tried J to begin with. Justin was one step closer to making this 3NT.

I know, but the commentators were talking about Drijver. He took the J, A, low, then low, K and then started to think. One commentator said "I wonder what he's thinking about now.." and the other one replied "he must be thinking why he didn't unblock at trick 1!".

Just out of curiosity, what are the medial echoes about this success in NL? Does it get into the main tv news, any tv reports?

I heard a radio interview yesterday evening.
Not seen anything on television, but the weekend is not over yet.

The Netherlands team played with formidable skill and consistency. Congratulations to them.

What a pleasure it has been following the adventures of USA2 this year and seeing them play so well in the U.S. trials and throughout this tournament.

It was an item on "Studio Sport" (THE national TV sports programme) saturday evening. Combined as a report of the WC organization and The Netherlands winning, with short interviews with some of the players and the coach.

I suspect all newspapers will have it covered in their sports section on Monday (no papers on Sundays in The NL), they aready covered NL reaching the finals and the progress in the Finals.

But to be honest, bridge doesn't normally generate any interest in the main stream media, just as anywhere else I suspect.

Even though we finished 2nd I think this is a great marketing opportunity for our new ACBL.

I'm not holding my breath.

Cold after the A?

Hmm, just duck the A later in the hand and declarer has 4 losers.

Oh, you must mean it is cold if he finesses the 10.

Yes, that is what declarer did.
