You obviously do not have 3 as invitational with two top honours avaiable. I would bid 3 NT. Making or down 4... :)
Kind Regards

If I can transfer to clubs and partner can preaccept with a fit, that is what I would do. If partner does not preaccept, I sign off in 3, possibly missing a game.

Otherwise, I just shoot out 3NT.

3NT. AQxxxx is usually worth five tricks - Jx or xxx is enough.
... that would still not be conclusive proof, before someone wants to explain that to me as well as if I was a 5 year-old. - gwnn

3 NT

"Well to be perfectly honest, in my humble opinion, of course without offending anyone who thinks differently from my point of view, but also by looking into this matter in a different perspective and without being condemning of one's view's and by trying to make it objectified, and by considering each and every one's valid opinion, I honestly believe that I completely forgot what I was going to say."

3NT is obvious. If pard declines an invitational 3C, then -

- we may well still be making 3NT
- If 3NT goes off, 3C may be off as well

Inviting would be more attractive if we had a stiff, at least then 3C would have a greater chance of making if passed.

IMPS, non vul...

I would bid 2 and if partner doesn't show fit and stuff, i will settle for 3. This is harder if we were vulnerable, I probably would try 3nt directly. The rbig concern is if partner is doubleton small in clubs, my wonderful hand might take exactly one trick!!! ON the other hand, vul, partner might stretch a super accept of clubs, so perhaps I should follow same strategy at both.

if i have 3 availalbe to show six card suit to KQ, AQ, or AK, then of course I use that at both vulnerabilities

I was very happy when I saw partner's hand, he had

xxx
AKJ
KQxxx
Kx

JC led a heart away from Qxxx and I could see 9 fast tricks, but my happinnes didn't last when clubs turned to be 4-1

In the closed room MickyB opener a light 1 overcalled with 1NT, and the serbian player with my cards was happy to settle te contract in 2 making 3.
