This appears to me as its own special sub-category on the main list of forums, with one forum in it with 127 topics, last posting in May this year, but then when I click on it claims not to have any topics in it.

When you click on it, you are shown all threads that have postings in the past 30 days, and there are none. At the bottom, you can "click here to show filter options" and if you make the period longer you will see the topics.

Can I turn off the sound that the program makes as cards are played? Thanks

Click on Options and uncheck Sound.
