You can not delete or close a topic, even one you start. You can, however, edit any post you make, and in your edits, you can delete all the text in the post. This will not remove any quoted material from your post in subsequent post.

You can ask any moderator to close or delete a topic. If people have already invested time responding to your topic, it is unlikely the topic will be deleted without a very good reason.
