MOSCITO Auction
3♥ - 4♣
4♦ - 5♣
6♠
4♣ show 8 controls
4♦ starts the scan
5♣ shows 1-2 controls in Hearts and Diamonds, 0-3 controls in Clubs
At this point in time, RA can place RR with AS, AK of Diamonds
RA asker is sure of 10 tricks and knows that there are two finesses available
Furthermore, there is a decent chance that declarer can ruff a long diamond
Further asks won't help. I think that its worth bidding the slam.
So far, this seems like the hardest hand...

3H--4C (S kc, 2noQ)
4D--4S (Kd ? yes but no Kc)
4Nt--5C (QD ? --no)
ill check for K of H and stop at 6S

From Psych "I mean, Gus and I never see eye-to-eye on work stuff.
For instance, he doesn't like being used as a human shield when we're being shot at.
I happen to think it's a very noble way to meet one's maker, especially for a guy like him.
Bottom line is we never let that difference of opinion interfere with anything."

3♥-4♣ QP ask; 8
4♦-4N 1-2 spades, 1-2 diamonds, nothing in clubs
5♣-5♦ only 1 spade (already knew)
5♥-6♣ 2 diamonds, J spade, no J diamonds (so either given hand, or K♥ KQ♦)

... 3♦ (shape)
3♥ - 4♣ (relay for QP, 8)
4♦ - 4♠ (relay, one stop spade, 0 or 2 top diamonds)
Can't be zero diamonds, so Axxxx x AKxx xxx or Axxxx x AQxx Qxx or Axxxx K KQxx xxx. All decent slams but no good grands here.
6♠ - Pass

3♥ - 4♣ (QP? - 8QP)
4♦ - 5♣ (control parity - odd, odd KQJ in ♠, odd KQJ in ♦, even in ♣)
At this point, responder possible hands are: AJxxx j AKxx xxx, AJxxx K AJxx xxx. The first hand with HJ plays better in 6NT. The second one plays better in 6NT except on D lead, in which case it makes when HJ falls in 3 rounds (36%) or C finesse (50%) with multiple squeeze chances after a diamond lead is ducked. I rate it to make about 73% on best lead (68% + 5% squeeze chances). I think 6S is slightly better (makes on 4-3, 5-2 the right direction, and 6-1, but some of the 4-3 / 5-2 requires guessing whether to ruff high), probably around 80%.
Since I won't be able to distinguish between AJxxx J AKxx xxx and AJxxx K AJxx xxx, I will go with 6NT when that happens.
5♦ - 5♠ (PCB - odd in ♥, no ♠T?)

...-3♦ (shape)
3♥-4♣ (QP ask ; 8)
4♦-4NT (start scanning ; 1/2 top honors ♠ and ♦, 0/3 in ♣)
6♠-pass (we know Axxxx-?-AKxx-xxx, but impossible to know about ♥K)
Again it would be useful to know about a singleton top honor. With ♥K we can play grand, I wonder how we can find out about this.

PCB bidders were able to rule out the stiff K♥ in this particular case.
