New suit forcing after overcall of preempt

Certainly the auction 2D opp, 2H partner, P, 2S is forcing. The explanation wasn't clear but GIB passed, making game.

Correct. Same should be true of 1M, 2C Partner, P, 2D. I checked the bid descriptions, bid 3D instead of 2, got to 5D ice cold for 6. Won a bunch of IMPS against the wall of +170's our way. It is reasonable to play a new suit advance to a 1 level overcall as NF, but not one at the 2 level.
