Ken,

Sounds like sled dog appreciation day would be more appropriate for Md today.

Yeah, even the wine store was closed! And Starbucks was closed. The club probably ran the bridge game though. I shoveled out the driveway around noon. I'll do it again and then it's time to sit back and relax.

The vision of a man shoveling snow from his driveway always reminds me of the scene near the end of Fargo where the guy says, So the wife says I should phone it in, so I phoned it in. End of story. You don't have a giant blue ox where you live, do you?

Well darn! I guess that means they cancelled the parade and the fireworks?

We had our bridge game at MIT last night. Only 5 tables (we usually get 7-8). My partner wimped out at the last minute, I played with someone else with a similar problem.

All was good until I tried to go home, and discovered that my car had been towed because Cambridge had a parking ban for the snow emergency. Paid $130 to get my car out of ransom, and have to pay a $30 ticket. Well, at least we got an above-average score.

So much for all my fond memories of Squirrel Appreciation Day. From now on I'll always associate it with a $160 game of bridge.

Friends? Well, I suppose they are not actually rats, so that is something in their favour.

Are you auditioning for the lead in "How the Grinch Stole Squirrel Appreciation Day"?
