During the past few days I've experienced random disconnects from BBO followed by automatic reconnects. It happened again this morning during memti's BIL tourney.
Yesterday while I was viewing a BIL tournament from that tournament's lobby (i.e. I wasn't kibitzing in a particular room) I noticed a couple of tables that turned completely red and then were restored immediately.
If it matters I'm connected via telco DSL service. I have a router connected to my DSL modem.
I never experienced this problem before version 4.1.7 of BBO.
Is anyone else experiencing this? Does anyone have a solution to this problem?
Pete

I don't think there is any one answer to this issue.
We've had users claim to resolve frequent disconnect issues by ( in no order )
- reboot PC
- replacing memory
- checking/repairing hard drive
- having ISP do something
- switch to wired from wireless
- connect to our alternate server
- reinstall BBO
Weird. My suggestion would be wait a couple of days and see if the problem resolves itself. While waiting, you can, if bored,
- reboot
- reinstall bbo
- disable sound within bbo ( click the yellow gear )
- Right click on C:\ (within MY COMPUTER) , Tools, Check now
- If you are capable of editing files using notepad, or of saving emailed file attachments into specific folders, email uday@ and I'll tell you how to point at our alternate server
- If you want to try the prev version, you can get it from
ftp://ftp.bridgebase...9_bbo_setup.exe
if you think the old version is disconnecting less frequently than the new version, please let fred@ know about it.
The prev version will try to upgrade itself. Press ESCape when it tries to do so, or close the window that offers the upgrade. It will give up after a couple of attempts

The good new is that I've solved the problem on my lap top. I
explicitly opened TCP port 9999 in Mcafee firewall in both directions
inbound and outbound. Its sort of strange that this solved the problem
when disabling the entire firewall didn't, but somehow or another it seems
to have done so, cause the BBO with laptop is back to its normal self. It
seems even stranger that the closed port didn't prevent me from connecting
at all as opposed to just causing the program to abort or freeze.

Here is something I just received from a user. Try it, if relevant.

I doubt that in my case the firewall is an issue. For what it's worth I use the current version of ZoneAlarm.
Nothing has changed on my side of the modem in the past few weeks except the version of BBO.
