X and 2♣ are the potentially light actions - anything else shows a good hand.

What about 3C? A team-mate of mine plays that PRE (e.g. x KQx xx AQ10xxxx), starting with double if she has a genuine good hand.

I think that is correct on the auction 1♣ - (P) - P - (1♠) but not standard here as partner might still have some decent values and diamonds. Obviously it is playable, as are many other schemes. You just have to be careful with an auction like 1♣ - (1♠) - P - (P); X - (P) - 2♥ - (P); 3♣. Is that the big hand or a competitive hand with long clubs and decent diamonds? It is not a problem when 2♠ and 2NT are also available, as here, but something that requires a little discussion. And what about 1♣ - (1♠) - P - (P); X - (P) - 2♠ - (P); 3♣? Are you sure of how your team mate plays that without asking her?
