Not unreasonably, it played you for 5 keycards when you opened 2C.

Here it's just you to make several serious mistakes.
1- Opening 2 is unreasonable.
2- Here your 5 should be " Five key cards , No queen ".
3- Even you open strong 2, after 4N, I would think you would honestly answer 5N,only.

Maybe this isn't the best hand to open 2 but I know good players who would open 2.
Gib bidding 4N is just ridiculous. In my opinion the weaker hand almost never should be taking over and bidding 4N after a 2 opening.
But here Gib is very weak and has no business taking over and bidding 4N.
Gib has no concept of captaincy in bidding.
