It’s either 1S or 4S for me. Depends on how I’m feeling about the game. I don’t expect to make, and if they double me and leave it in, I hope they have a biddable slam, but I don’t expect it.
With those caveats expressed, I think this is a fairly normal 4S even red v white, but I respect those who differ.one thing I won’t do is bid 3S, leaving me wanting to bid again if the reach 4H

3♠ just makes it easy for the opps to compete so it is 4♠ from me also. Either they pass quietly, or X, bid 4NT or at the five level, and at that level it is a guessing game whether to stick, pull another card (or two), or go bust.
Taking away the opps. space is what this hand is all about.

These were both from a BBO ACBL tourny so the standard was low. I opened 4S, it wasn't the best contract but the lie was favourable and 10 tricks was 95% or so.
