On board 5 in today's (November 27) robot opponents took the first 4 tricks. Lead was A D and then 3 spade tricks. All day long the result should be the same. Everyone should get 50%. So how is it that I got 25%????? The answer can only be either a) not everyone plays the same hand on the same board (i.e. deals are different) or b) robots have some randomness built in so they don't make the same lead in all cases or the same bid in all cases. Can someone please explain?

They make exactly the same bids and plays if you make exactly the same bids and plays. However, there are likely different ways you can follow to the first few tricks which is usually enough to introduce variation, even if the cards are seemingly (or completely) unimportant..

As you can see from the resulting traveller, if you play low on trick 2 rather than covering with the J, then East also happens to duck, so West remains on lead and decides to switch back to a diamond, because it think it's still a possibility you may have ducked the king of spades yourself (even if that would be silly).

Note this doesn't (necessarily) mean J is a better or worse play than low; you really have no idea how the robots will proceed, and low may just as easily have gotten a bottom score instead of a top. It's just the cause of variation.
