Well, it seems logical enough, and just the same as last train. Skipping 3♠ to bid 4♣ is screaming at partner about a spade control, so partner needs a way to show it, ideally below game. If they do show it and you still sign off, it must mean you were looking for something else as well.

Correct
What surprised me was that out of 7 tables only 1 was in 4♥ (probably the strongest pair) with the others playing Acol in 3N.
Being a relative novice at Acol I would have thought 1♦-1N-2♠-3♥-4♥ would have been a reasonable auction
Now returning to a strong NT, which leads me to a small tweak in my approach
1N-2♦-2♥

.. 3N forcing to 4M opposite 3♥/4♠
