You may wish to reconsider. If you play the club king at trick one, which card do you play from your hand? Your line isn’t bad if you can pitch a loser from your hand on trick one…but I’m afraid clubs are 4-1 so that isn’t enough, even if they don’t notice that you revoked at trick one

I play the following:

non-jump new suit = 4+ cards, unbalanced
3m = 6+ cards, minimum, unbalanced
2N = 17+ balanced
3N = 15-16 balanced
jump new suit = splinter, roughly 15-18 (this is already uncomfortably wide since partner frequently has to decide whether to play 3N or not).
4m = strongly slam suggestive in the minor - minorwood in partnerships that play that

Don't forget to have agreements over 4th seat interference

We can play east for the diamond Q but if it won you a Canadian title, I doubt it’s that simple

Partner forgot a little more than that, in particular to show either first round major suit control over 4♦. I was thinking of suggesting in response to Helene's post that responder should be 2=2=5=4 as with GF 5(+)♣ starting 1♦-2♣ is good, but you may well decide that 'support with support' takes priority. This hand is too much though, and I think all of the following are applicable:

• It seems neither of you is comfortable with your inverted minor agreements.
  
• Your partner got spooked in a GF auction, and would do well to both improve at this and realise this hand was perfect for setting up a GF first round.
  
• Minor suit bidding is hard. Slam bidding is hard. Many people are bad at these tasks. I think at the moment being able to find these contracts is out of reach, and the best way to improve is discussing general principles more.

4 hearts, 3S, 2C, and guessing the diamond gets you 12 tricks….a trick short. What reason could declarer have to get that guess ‘right’?

We can start in either of 2 ways:

1♦-3♠ (void, optional voidwood)

1♦-3♣ (rock crushing single suiter SI, or at least ♣HHxxx, ♦Hxxx H=AKQ and at least GF)

We do not start with the inverted raise on this sort of hand
