Over the past few weeks, we've been improving the redesigned list of pending tournaments, and BBO has just been updated to release the new design to all players.

Feedback, comments, suggestions are welcome in this thread. We'll be following closely and take into account your suggestions for the next updates.

It should be possible to filter on multiple parts of the tournament names ie "Free tournament AND ( Human Declares OR Express )" When this is not possible I prefer the old overview as one sees more tournaments at once so there's less need to scroll down.

Filters can and should be improved, but the biggest and most obvious improvement - not showing (or showing differently) tournaments for which one is not qualified - has already been excluded here, on dubious grounds of impracticability.
I see no excuse for the new huge waste of vertical space and the distraction of uninformative graphics.
The previous interface is much more immediate and practical.
Why fix things that are not broken when so much else is clearly amiss?

Some tournaments for which you are not eligible are not shown. We're working on this to improve the way we only show relevant games to the players.

For example, do you now see the Women's Daylong Reward, the eBridge Cup Semi-Finals or eBridge Cup2 in Special Events? You should no longer see these games, but in the older list you could.

Thanks for that minor fix. But the specific problem I was thinking of (there may be others similar) was eligibility for free tournaments which have lists of friends/enemies and or geographic or other requirements which one may or may not meet. As there is currently no graphic indication of whether one is eligible or not, the only way is to try to join and be refused (without even an explanation of precisely why). This is somewhat a mess, and I find it hard to accept barmar's justification that fixing it at the level of tournament list would require excessive CPU: even if really so with current means of real time interpretation of admission criteria, surely either precompiling some kind of matrix or pre-computing eligibility for those players who already played the tournament in question or requested to do in recent past could render this possible.

I understand. I was giving you those examples to show we are working in this direction. Those games are also limited by geo or specific lists or friends of hosts, etc. We will get there; ideally we will only show to players games they can join.

A toggle to show tournaments with available spots remaining only makes sense too.

I totally agree - I hate it and will be playing less tournaments as a result - easier to go onto the bridge playing site.

Perhaps it's just me, since no one else is mentioning it, but all the robot tourneys on the list show start times of two hours and some minutes -- when they actually start in a few minutes. If you go to the tourney details, you can see the correct start time, i.e. the part which wasn't updated still works. The filter params at the top are a fine idea, but the new list format is not an improvement, IMO.

The new format is horrible. Difficult to read and even more difficult to use. And the partnership desk seems to have disappeared and in its place are an instant invitation to people you follow who are on line, but I would have already known if I wanted to play with one of them at that time. I don't know that anyone ever had any trouble telling which tournaments they were ineligible for since the software automatically told you registration failed and this was not a great inconvenience, and the filters are very inconsistent. Bridge players are for the most part intelligent people and are not in need of some AI telling us where to play a tournament, we can figure it out ourselves. Please scrap this unwieldly "improvement" right away.

Agreed. It's clunky and harder to use.

The font is impossible for me to read without squinting my eyes. This is horrible. Please bring back the old version if you cannot do better than this.

Can you send me a screenshot of what the screen looks like on your device please? diana@bridgebase.com

If you could tell me what device, operating system and browser you are using that would also help.

Is your computer set to another time zone than where you actually live? We used to have a bug related to off synch between user's local computer time and their actual time zone, but it should have been resolved.

Give me more details please; you can send me a private message or email diana@bridgebase.com so we can understand why you are seeing the wrong times.
