Charlie the Chimp, West, may have pulled a fast one here. His 1D was a misclick, intending to open 1C, and North's 3C overcall was weak. Charlie was about to ask for an undo but quickly realised that the misclick might be to his advantage. When East made a takeout double North could not avoid -500.

SB, North, asked Charlie why he had opened 1D and he replied it was a misclick. SB then asked why he had not asked for an undo. He replied, "sorry I was a bit slow off the mark and my partner had bid. As we both know no correction is possible unless I draw attention to the misclick before my partner calls. "until his partner
makes a call" is the wording in 25A1, as you know SB"

How do you rule? The hand is from actual play.

I'm not a mind reader. Unless the Chimp tells me he did as you say, I have no evidence that's what he did. Result stands.

It looks like a misclick, pulled the wrong card. We could ask to see their convention card or ask about their minor openings.
They got lucky Result stands.
