Hi all,

Bidding after a support redouble:

Is this a situation for just preference or bidding is a free bid and does promise some points?

Is it like bidding after a redouble? 1 (X) (XX) _?

Thank you very much

Kind Regards,

I suppose you are talking about E actions?

Compared to 1 something X XX, the likelihood of being Xed punitively here is lower. Especially if opps play a support scheme where even a min balanced hand has to XX to show 3-cd support. You could even have more HCP than the other side!

That being said, I prefer to stick to pass = no clear preference between the other suits, bid = I want to play there. Considering you can still have some values, a jump could even be envisioned with 8+ or a bit less if 5-cd. Or 1NT with adequate stoppers and sufficient strength.
