Hi, has anyone really examined tournament results on BBO? I played in a day long 799 tournament on April 8th and finished 27th out of 439 players. Yet
1. 73 players received a higher number of masterpoints than I did. The probability of finishing 27th but 73rd in master points is <3%.
2. Out of 32 sections, I had a higher score than 17 players that finished first in their section
3. Out of 32 sections, 8 A players had a lower score than I did but somehow finished first in their section.
4. 17 A players had a lower score than I did but somehow ended up with more master points.
5. I had the HIGHEST score among players who received the same number of masterpoints as I did; which ranged in overall rank from 27th to 254th! In other words, I received the same amount of master points as someone who had a 48% game. Then I played in a tournament yesterday and I finished 14th out of 322 players yet 38 players received more ACBL points than I did. I received the same points as someone who finished 88th! This ridiculous practice of assigning people to sections when we don't play against each other is a contributing factor. I have complained to BBO for a while now but have not received any satisfactory answer. I was just wondering if anyone else feels the same way. By the way, stratification is NOT driving my complaint; in both tournaments I had the highest score among players who received the same number of masterpoints as I did and several players who were also designated as "A" had lower scores than I did and yet received more masterpoints. SOMETHING IS VERY WRONG!!!!

See https://www.bridgeba...ost__p__965110. ACBL daylongs include invisible "metasections" that take the place of overall awards for massive tournaments.
