A clear case of UI passing to partner that I heard of yesterday:

At low level competition the bidding goes (it's aweful, but that doesn't matter much):
North East South West
3♣! - Dbl - 3♦! - pass
4♦ - 5♣ - 5♦ - pass
pass - 6♣ - Dbl - pass
...
3♣ was transfer preempt. Now North starts thinking, South notices that and takes a card and places it ready to lead!!! Why didn't he say: "P, it was a penalty double, so shut up and let me lead" :D Bidding continued pass - pass obviously...
