If I had to bid 1NT to show a 3-suited takeout, I wouldn't.
I was wondering when someone would say that

obvious X for me. although a little lite for initial X, 44 in majors makes up for it

1NT for 3 suit t/o; perfect.
Huh? Is there some problem with double in your system Dwayne?
Is the word "pass" not in your vocabulary?
So many experts, not enough X cards.

If you play 1NT for 3 suited t/o, you play double as 15+ balanced (or very strong). Basically, switch X and 1NT overcalls, only 1NT t/o can be lighter and is limited, while X showing balanced can be stronger than the usual 15-18 or whatever.

Play OC structure with X vs. 1NT distinction being X='beware of skying as one major is iffy', whereas 1NT= Majors OK minor iffy.
