What Frances said.
That's impossible. No one can give more than one hundred percent. By definition that is the most anyone can give.

If partner hesitated then I like a X.

However, that would be considered unethical. To appear ethical you have to play that you pass quickly with good hands, and slowly with bad hands. That way you seem like you are using active ethics when you X after a quick pass, and also when you pass after a slow pass.

D'ONT LISTEN TO JLALL HE IS A &&&&&&& UNETHICAL MORON AND HAS NO CLUE ABOUT BRIDGE.

I really couldn't find anything else to argue about in this thread.

Of course I come in, with pass, quite likely an adequate discription of what I have.

I guess its obvious to Pass..

Anyway indeed it was passed out..

The full hands are as follows:
Scoring: IMP

EW has a cold 4,
However NS has 5 on a gd guess in , or will be a gd sac against 4

Any comments or 4 here just a normal contract :P

Life sucks then you die.

It would not occur to me that the South hand is an optimal dummy for a sac over 4.

Congratulate your opponent on a well timed heavy 4 call.

This deal isn't entirely without interest.

Suppose that NS reach 5. Declarer ruffs the opening spade lead and, not having second sight, cashes A.

It looks like he's one down now, but he's not: heart to the 7; spade ruff; heart to the 10; knock out A; win the return; cash two diamonds and one heart, taking a club finesse when in the North hand; exit with a diamond in this position:

It would be nice not to have to finesse 7, but I can't see a way to get the timing right without this finesse.
... that would still not be conclusive proof, before someone wants to explain that to me as well as if I was a 5 year-old. - gwnn

I double, too easy to miss a cold 5 and lose a double game swing by passing.
Please let me know about any questions or interest or bug reports about GIB.

While I wait for partner to lead, I will mull over the missed opportunities to play the hand.
