okay, this isn't interesting. i have bid 3h in no time and we ended up in 4s which made, -1 at the other table so it swung. however i missed to make my partner's day. what i wanted to discuss on this topic are the requirements for the balancing x. my p claims that structure of points has more impact then distribution. i must admit that it has some merit

I think partner is resulting the board. Ya, an X might have worked out better. But 6/5 majors and 10 hcp I am not X'ing.

If 3C was weak I think X might have a lot going for it even though it's crazy...but I would still bid 3H.
