Opponents bid undisturbed:

1 - 1
3 - 3
3 - 4
4 - 4NT
5 - 6

3 = GF
3 = Sets hearts, stronger than 4
3 = Cue
4 = Cue, denies a club-cue.
4 = Club-cue
4NT = RKC
5 = 0 or 3

Your hand:

Scoring: IMP

How do you rate the leads:

1) A spade.
2) A heart.
3) A Diamond.
4) A club. (The Ace.)

assuming 4 denies a cue means no A or K I would lead the A. Failing that I would lead a . Both the remaining suits are just bad leads IMO

i would rule out a diamond or a spade immeadeately, they both have a high chance of crusih a trick.

I have no particularly strong feeling on the ace of clubs or a trump, but since the club control is on my right, its possible he has Kx clubs or something. Its most likely that he is singleton of course, but still, i think this sways me towards a trump.

I lead a spade, trying to cause entry problems. If declarer needs to ruff two diamonds in dummy, he won't be able to cross in spades because I'll get a ruff. I'm hoping that partner will have K (declarer's club control being a singleton).
... that would still not be conclusive proof, before someone wants to explain that to me as well as if I was a 5 year-old. - gwnn
