ffs, this has reminded me of the most annoying hand ever. I had 7 trumps over declarers 5, and I ended up conceding 5 trumps tricks defending 1Sx because I could not shorten my trumps enough and ended up having to lead into declarers trumps/letting him ruff things, all the time.
Play started with a club lead, then a diamond to the ace and a club ruffed by declarer, then he played a diamond, so I ruffed and played a heart, and partner played another top heart (discarding a club), then a third heart, which I ruffed and played my fourth club, which declarer ruffed, and now I have two more trumps than him, so he plays a diamond I have to ruff and play a trump and then he played another diamond and I had to ruff and play a trump.
PS: the hand is a construction based roughly on my memory of what happened.

On this hand i bid 3♦. Partner having 30 points in his hand raised to 7♦. It is extemely unbeliveable that 7♦= was the bottom score.

Why did partner double Two Spades?
Perhaps (s)he was catering to us having AQT8642 in trumps.

Great hand. I'm so glad I'm not you.

I heard 2Sx= is game, there are a lot of brave people here but you should take this into consideration.
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

East has levelled us, and I would like a game with him some time.
He has overcalled 2♠ with hearts. Then had the bottle to pass when North doubled, trusting that we would have a monumental screw-up, or failing that, a cold grand.
We must be cold for Seven Spades - I rather suspect we have about 19 tricks, but eight down in Two Spades is only 2000.
I would have bid Three Spades on the first round, which is natural for me. And partner's double shows a balanced hand with no clear direction, since with an unbalanced game force, he just bids a suit.
I simply don't believe partner has ♠- ♥AKQJ ♦AKQJT ♣AKQJ. Who doubles Two Spades with that?
