With 6-5 you have two valid routes (unless treating as 6-4) - HCCH HCHC. The first is weak. With 5-5 you have one.

I don't grasp why this is so hard. With 2D, partner has asked for more clarification about your hand. There seem to be two choices of responding methods: 1) show your relative strength and 2), show your shape.

I don't follow the argument that 2D should not be completely game forcing as the structure of the game rewards game and slam bidding above reaching the correct partscore - possibly different if strictly a matchpoint player.

Once the 2D is acknowledged to be game forcing, 3N becomes a wasted bid and probably should be based on fast arrival principles.

Of course, this is all IMHO.

We went through the idiom "begs the question" before. However, those who didn't choose 3C on the previous round obviously believe they can't do it with 6-5 in the two suits. I disagree, but would not presume to tell anyone what is "supposed to show." So I, too, will "sidestep" the question.

It is quite dependent on the rest of your continuations. Wank, apparently uses 2S as the stall with 2-5-2-4; others might like it to show 3 cards in spades (pard's focus suit). We would be using 2H as the stall and no diamond stop with 2-5-2-4 and therefore wouldn't be guaranteeing a 6th heart anyway, so we might as well choose 3C with 6H/5C.

good question with 2=5=2=4 and no d stopper does one rebid 2s or 2h or 2nt over 2d(art/gf)?

I think most often I would try 2nt even with no stopper.
