Pass for now - risky to bid as partner may only have 3 spades and finesses are losing.
If RHO is messing about, partner will reopen and then we can bid 4.

How large of a supply of alka seltzer do you take to each bridge session. 4S may indeed be a IMP saving sac

vs 3N. The problem is it will almost always result in a negative score and sometimes quite large. what you have

to consider is, that the opening 3c might itself have such a huge range, that 3n cannot make and 4s is going for

a number instead of a positive score. If your partnership likes to compete on low probability hands, this is a game,

go for it. Just remember that once in a while p will have a rock when they x 3c and if you are in the habit of "sac"

with junk that has a chance of being right what will you do with a hand that has some value??????

That downside alone keeps most players "honest" to a degree since they do not wish to make the game

unplayable when they have the goods only when the opps do:))). The bidding has seen to it we cannot keep the

opps from making game if they have the goods. The only question is just how far do you wish to pursue the

relatively small number of IMPS you gain from 4sx vs the times you get hammered big time or just turn a postive

into a negative because your rho misjudged game prospects:))))))))))))) talk it over with your partner and good luck.

I would pass:)

I lead a spade. Happy to have such a stand out lead vs 3N.

Bidding now on a 10 loser hand makes no sense to me. When you can make or come close to making 4, you probably won't play there because partner will make a slam try and be very disappointed to see your hand.

Clear pass at MP, much less at imps; the tops you get for -300 vs. -400 are so much less likely than going for too much or taking a phantom. At imps risk/reward is far worse.

Indeed, I mean it half feels like it's being asked because of a ruling but I couldn't see how that would come into being...

Had to double-check that I'd read "love all" correctly. I'm so so far from bidding.

What would Redouble instead of 3NT mean for these opponents?
Or 3D,3H,3S forcing? Maybe wrench into the gears?
3NT maybe wrench into our gears?
Any answer gets passed to partner.
Just so I know what they're doing I ask just as if I were intending to bid.

Pass.

Wouldn't be surprised if a H lead works better than a S though.
