Over 2♠ I have a negative double available, but I will not use it here. My hearts are weak and the last thing I want to do is force partner to rebid 3♣ or any higher in clubs with my void.
With my long spades, I expect partner is likely to reopen where I will have to decide if I want to bid 3♥ or 4♥

Well that didn't go the way I expected it, but partner freely made a takeout double of 3♠ and after the raise, we can assume he has a spade void and with the double heart support. I am going to bid 4♥ gladly when partner doubled 3♠. I don't consider more simply because I don't have a diamond control and a void in partner's primary suit is not all that great.
After the redouble of 3♠, I don't think I have changed my mind. I WANTED to bid 4♥ after the 3♠X, I still want to bid 4♥, nothing has changed. They have 9 spades to the KQJT, unless they have lost their minds, the redoubler must have some good extra stuff. That makes 4♥ seem like enough for sure. I still bid 4♥'s.
The hands you present, EW seem to be bidding aggressively and perhaps a little strangely, I am not sure this redouble exist, at least I never remember seeing it before. Where they well behind in the match at this point?

I don't know how badly my bidding on did, but should 4♥ make, your result of +600 (-2xx) will still beat my +420. You didn't show the hands, I wonder wonder what the hell East has on this hand.

FWIW, at the other table there was a simple 1♠ overcall
