I would like to save BBO practice session results as a text file that can be e-mailed to a 3rd party (EOK) for in-line commenting, etc. How do I do this?

Hi curtis,

Welcome to the BridgeBase Forums. A lin file is already a text file. So if you play on line or bid in the partnership bidding room, a lin file should be created. If your BBO nickname is curtis, you will find it in a subdirctory under bridge base online directory. Assume Briidgebase is on your C drive the directory tree will be...

C:/bridge base online/hands/curtis/xx-xx-xx-x-.lin where the naming convention is the first two x's are for month, next two day, next two year, and final one is the sequential file saved that day.

Just email those lin files to EOK and you have it done.

You would be better off doing what Ben suggests and let EOK convert the .lin to text himself, but I can explain how to do what EOK wants:

1. Click the "open bridge movie on your computer" button that appears BEFORE you log in to BBO.

2. Open the file for the session you want.

3. A scoreboard of the session will appear. Click the Print button on the toolbar.

4. You will be asked "export to text file?". Say "yes".

A text file named match.txt will be created in your BBO folder which is likely:

c:\bridge base online

If an existing match.txt file exists there it will be overwritten without prompting you for permission.

This is the file that EOK wants, but I should emphasize again that it would be best if you just sent him the .lin file and had him follow the above steps himself (since formatting of text files can be messed up when you send them around the Internet).
