  • Interests:My personal interests are my family and my friends. I am extremely concerned about the lives and futures of the kids (and their families) that I work with. I care about the friends I have made on BBO. Also, I am extremely concerned about the environment/ ecology/ wildlife/ the little planet that we call Earth. How much more of the world's habitat and food supply for animals do we plan on destroying. How many more wetlands are we going to drain, fill, and build on? How many more sand dunes are we going to knock down in the interests of high-rise hotels or luxury homes?

Nopes, it has nothing to do. This hand was played by me on BBO on Monday.

Here the full hand

I am not sure if the 3 bidders will end in 3NT or 4. I for sure ended on 4 bcause I bid them.

It looks like in the game is the only one who can survive a missplaced K, in practice it was teh only one to go 2 off after East found a very inspired A lead.

I think the ace of hearts lead is normal (underleading is pretty big). You hope to set up a ruff with pard as you have 3 tricks in your own hand.

On the Mike Lawrence CD about the 2/1 system, he talks about Eisenberg Jump Shifts. these work very well and eliminate any confusion about whether a 3C may be manufactured.

Fred's ideas that a jump shift must be able to control the auction is well merited. I don't think the N hand can really do that (unless he wants to play 3NT opposite any 1NT response

seems like north can control the auction easily enough. 3N over 3H or 3S, 4D over 3D, 4D over 4C, pass over 3N
