Last week at the club I held something like 98632 at had to give a count signal (UDCA), afterwards I asked David if he prefers the 3 or the 6. David prefers the clearest signal that I can afford so the 6 in this case.

Any thoughts?

This depends on what you see in dummy and can infer from the bidding, but I'm surprised you can't afford the 9.
