A fun hand from a few weeks ago. At unfavourable vulnerability, first seat, you pick up a weak 6-5 hand. With so few intermediates I decided to go for the low road and open 2♥. In general I'm not a big fan of opening 4M on a 6-5, the risk of losing trump control is somewhat significant.
To my surprise my partner corrects to 3♦, natural and not forcing, and RHO doubles. The rest of the auction and the South hand can be found in the spoiler.

I raise to 5♦. Partner rates to have zero defence against 4♠ now that we know the diamonds won't cash, and for all I know 5♦ might make! If they bid 5♠ I will subside and leave it to partner, hopefully this auction was revealing enough to make the right decision.

I don't think the play of the hand is very exciting, but maybe I missed something and there's something clever to it.

No moral of the story this time, but inspired by the other live thread on wild distributions.

I think if you are going to compete to 6 you should have bid it on the previous round. My thinking is no, hope that either 5♠ goes off or they have missed slam.
