No, I bid a simple 3H. The SK is wasted, nothing in Cs, D are A empty, not a great hand.

3H

I like to accept with six, but this looks like the hand where you draw the line.

I have a minimum for my overcall, so I can't see an alternative to signing off in 3.

3 wtp. This is about the worst possible hand I can have.

Maybe the fact that 2 did not get doubled makes my K worth slightly more, but still.

I vote for 3 as well as the majority, but I think this is less clear than the poll results and comments above suggest. Sure I am minimum for my 2 bid. But I do have a sound opening hand (at least by my standards) so my overcall is not as weak as suggested. In addition, I have a singleton. I usually accept most limit raises with a singleton and virtually all with a singleton and a sixth trump (if I had opened). And while my heart suit is "ratty" (no intermediates), partners raise removes the concern over lack of intermediates. This overcall on KQxxxx can now be viewed through rose-colored glasses as an overcall on KQT987 (that is, the raise removes concern about the quality of the suit).

However, partner could be under some pressure with his invitaional bid here. He might have strained to raise to 3 to keep the auction open. So I am willing to be a little hesitant being not vulnerable. Second, I don't like three cards in the two side suit. I would much prefer to be 4-2 in the minors (keep ace in the longer suit). If we were vulnerable here at imps, bidding only 3 would be a good bit harder due to the factors mentioned in the first paragraph--but I would probably still only bid 3 even then.

I know this hand.

I would simply bid 3H also.

This was my hand as his partner. This is like the 3rd board we had played together, ever.

Scoring: IMP

I could raise 3H to 4. I chose not to based on the 3-3-4-3 distribution and the 3H rebid. The only reason you can make four is because you can get an unlikely pitch on the spade A. Wouldn't you also bid 2H on x KQxxxx Axx xxx? But now 4H has no valid play. Of course, the field is in 4H making on these hands.

Besides, you did well to make 5. :P

(Don't ask how, LOL).
Is the word "pass" not in your vocabulary?
