Pass would be my second choice, 2 Diamond my third.

I could live with a partner who preferred to pass hands like this, but I'd struggle with a double in my general methods.

Move the King of clubs to another
suit and we can start talking about
a t/o, I still would bid 1D, but at least
I would begin to see some merits.
You may convince me that pass is
best, but I am used to bid, sometimes
I bid to much.
With kind regards

Too weak and wrong shape for double. Can live with one flaw but not two.
If I live in Italy I guess they win with double all the time.

At the table, I would consider three different bids:
Pass
1♦
2♦
I suspect that I would (probably) pass, with 1♦ as a close second. On occasion, I'd trot out a 2♦ just to keep things lively.

For those who double, what about this auction:
1♣-1♦-2♣-P-
P-X?
Or, is there something different about the delayed action, like a sixth diamond expected?

me too.
I am a 1♦ overcaller: I won't stretch to double on modest high cards with 3=3 in the majors.
As for [1♣] 1♦ [2♣] P P... I can think of almost no reasons to bid. Partner could have made a responsive double or a raise to 2♦... and he could have bid a chunky 5 card major if he is a maximum passed hand. So doubling now seems low percentage.. could work out, but rates not to.
Bear in mind that the auction doesn't rate to go 2♣ P P... most of the time, LHO is bidding a major, or doubling, or (given our suit) bidding 1N etc. So I wouldn't make my first call in the expectation of being able to reopen next round.

Agree. I would bid 2♦ at matchpoints.

I don't double 1m in the direct seat with 3-3 in the majors and 12 hcp, but each to his own...

I'm a 1D overcaller on this hand as well but I don't mind double at all. I don't like 2D on this hand with a poor suit and so many scattered honours: xxx xxx KJxxx Kx is much more of a 2D call.
I have no intrinsic problem with doubling on a 3352 12-count. I bet mike would double (if he did anything) with
KQx
AKx
9xxxx
xx
and I bet all the doublers would bid diamonds (1 or 2) with
xxx
Qxx
AKQxx
Jx
