Lions had two guys standing in no-man's land. Caldwell admitted they weren't playing the full hail mary defense (which would have included Calvin Johnson) because they underestimated Rodgers' arm strength.

But now it is good for the Cowboys to lose the remaining games. Get Romo fit again and make a new try next year - add a top quality WR, CB and NT and the team ought to be walking the NFC East.

Haha, I was def rooting for us to lose. My dad said he couldn't do it and was rooting for us to win though. It is more fun to watch losing with Moore than CASSEL. Dude will at least YOLO it to dez and see what happens, Cassel throws picks when hes trying to throw the ball away.

Kicking off to start overtime? Seems pretty reasonable - it's a pretty close decision in average circumstances to begin with, defense seemed to rule the game, and if you managed to choose to play with the wind as well...

That would be too obvious. A superior way to do it would be to let the score end up tied, not try to score on your last possession, win the flip in OT, choose to kick, then instruct your defense to allow the opponents to score. O_o

Still, would be easier/less injury risk to just go for two to win in regulation and throw an incomplete pass, followed by botching the onside kick.

I actually think going for two would have been a great decision. NE seemed to be able to pick up 2 yards at will in the game, the problem was just that picking up 2 yards three times in a row doesn't actually give you a first down. And not risking injuries by going to OT is a legit strategy given their place in the standings.

As for kicking, apparently since the rule change 50.7% of receiving teams have won in OT. Sounds close enough but probably a couple of percent go to tie games. Anyway, I think Slater just goofed by saying "we want to kick" rather than "we want to pick sides".
