Playing in NT, you'd like to get 3 tricks from this suit in order to net the all-important overtrick at MPs. Currently in hand, you have two entries to each hand. What's the best way to tackle the suit?

Run the J. If lose to west, cash ace. If east covers, ace, then low to t. You are playing for Kx/Qx/K9/Q9 onside, KQ doubleton offside, 9x offside.
Note at MP depending on the trick situation of the rest of the hand it might be right to give up on KQ offside to protect against stiff K/Q offside and guarantee 2 tricks with a low to the 8 maneuver next time, since stiff honor 1-4 split more common than KQ doubleton off.
On suitplay.com , the author of suitplay released windows version like 5 years ago, site has instructions how to email for download link.

It depends on who you think is short in this suit. If rho then lead the J and play rho for Hx. If lho then lead small toward JTxx and play lho for Hx. Similar situations come up all the time.

The presence of the 8 makes running the J quite a lot better, allowing picking up 9x offside, not a symmetrical situation. (Also can pick up 9 stiff offside if RHO doesn't cover 1st round).
According to suitplay you need a fairly extreme situation, like 5-1 side suit break making LHO short before low to the JTxx gets back to even, and 6-1 when low to JTxx is percentage.
Without the 8, then it is a guess between run the J/low to the J and lesser suit discrepancies will tilt the situation.
