From yesterdays DL no. 1
A disaster except for this gem.
Can anyone tell me which part of a simple 2/1 system West's bid of 3 is part of?
Even if West thought East had 1 fewer , why is suddenly having a spade spasm right?

Excellent bidding by GIB West. There are many hands where the super Moysian 4-2 fit is the best contract. I consider it unlucky that this hand was not one of them. If GIB keeps on bidding like this, eventually it will lead to a fantastic result.

Geez Gib makes a penalty double and partner shows 3 with values.
Gib just can't believe in it's own good fortune.
Sarcasm is a state of mind
